In a recent statement, Senator Romero said, "In his veto message, the Governor left the door open... and we will tell the Governor, CDCR Secretary Tilton, and the Department of Finance that you can do it yourselves or we're here to watch and oversee that you do it. There's Title 15, there's administrative regulations, there's much that can be done, so a veto says that we didn't get it done this year, but the promise of the Yard has got to continue."
